The fact that a woman’s age affects the future baby, the risk of developing pathologies in him, is known to many: when a pregnant woman is older than 35 years old, the probability of mutations in the fetus increases. But it turns out that the age of the father also matters for the health of the child.
Probability of conception
Men, unlike women, can become fathers at any age – their sperm production does not stop over the years. But sperm quality is getting worse. Sperm motility is reduced, making it harder for them to reach the egg. Their endurance decreases, and the sperm cannot penetrate the egg shell. In addition, the muscles of the perineum become weaker and do not provide the necessary contractions of the penis. Continue reading
What does thick blood mean
Blood is a biological fluid, consisting of liquid plasma, in which in certain quantities in suspension there are cells – red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, the so-called shaped elements. Due to them, blood has a certain density, or viscosity, which is defined as the ratio between these cells and blood plasma. This ratio is called hematocrit, or hematocrit. Normal hematocrit values are 0.40–0.48 for men and 0.36–0.46 for women.
When we say “thick blood”, we mean that it has increased viscosity, that is, the hematocrit is increased. Thick blood in itself is not a disease, but it indicates a dysfunction in the body and is called the “syndrome of increased blood viscosity.”

Briefly about pathology
The inflammatory process affecting the mucous membrane of the eyelid is commonly called barley. Pathology received such a specific name for its appearance. Inflammation really resembles a small cereal grain. Several seals may appear on one eye at once. But most often only one barley pops up.
The pathology is often based on purulent inflammation that affects the sebaceous gland or ciliary bulb. Such barley is called external. But sometimes the meibomian glands become inflamed (these are modified glands that open in the corners of the eyelids). This pathology is called internal barley. Continue reading
